My interest in Haiti began with my passion for the French language. As long as I can remember, I always wanted to speak French. (Perhaps I did in another lifetime?)
One summer as I was working at a French language camp, a mission family who lived in Haiti came to speak to the campers about what they did and the connection of the French language to the Haitian language of French Creole.
I never forgot about their visit.
I became a French teacher and remained one for 18 years.
It makes sense that Haiti Children and other Haitian charities would be my charitable passion!
This picture is a piece of Haitian Metal Art that I newly acquired.
I love it!
